The time was “then” this I recall
Just the two of us and no more at all
Just us on the water that sparkled and shimmered
While tapping evenly with a rhythmic rhythm
That gave this day a more happy tone
With strength to break a heart of dense stone
Sitting there staring, staring in wonder
From how fast she trusted me, I did ponder.
On how I was told of memories so deep
That even the toughest man would fall and weep
So as I sat there and continued to listen
I tried my hardest to prevent my eyes to glisten
For it is not help I wish for me
But for her happiness to be
With her happiness, it brings me to joy
Just like a child who receives a new toy
Staying there with her until we have to go back
With the rest of the people over by the shack.
