she said: Can't stand romances!
life is half empty without them
like a tequila shot
run dry
on a summer night
it sure did ring true
for many a poor soul
that night.

she said: can't stand romances!
what about them?
romances run dry
upon the many facets of life.

she said: can't stand romances!
let them tell the tale of love
woven into hollow voices
of a life lived in a time of great hurry
hurrying for a new beginning
upon a city
that has withstood
a thousand cacophony of desires
but none for romances.
