Cat And Mouse Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Cat And Mouse

Cat and Mouse.

A tiny mouse, in green so deep,
From cat's sharp claws, its secret keep.
Wet grass trembles, fear takes hold,
A heart so small, a story told.

The cat's keen nose, the twitching ear,
Hunts for whispers, drawing near.
Then shadow falls, a feathered might,
A falcon's swoop, a sudden light.

Claws grip fur, a startled yowl,
The cat is lifted, a feathered scowl.
Little mouse, now free, a chance so swift,
Darts to its nest, a precious gift.

One seeks to eat, one seeks to flee,
Fate's tangled dance, for all to see.
This day, the small one found its way,
To safety's door, at close of day.
