Catalizador Poem by Ali Rahimi

Catalizador

In love with your aroma,
Madly cherished your aura,
Slavishly adored your pheromones,
Was ruthlessly victim to your hormones,
Once he belonged to you
Was like a Madagascar lovebird
Hot, passionate and tireless,
Yes,
African vigor and zest,
Was the Nigerian Fella Kuti, Egyptian pharaoh,
a Rastafarian Jah light,
Once,
His heart pined and whined for you
Alas, in the chemistry of this symbiosis
He was a dazzling gladiator,
Turned into a pathetic catalizador
In the machinery of your relations
He was just a small cog in fascination
Sad and God-forsaken

Wallow in joy darling!
