Catch A Butterfly Poem by Sanjeev Nanda

Catch A Butterfly

To be a bird, and catch a butterfly by the talons
To be a free spirit, and pounce on the unseemly
Oh, how great I must be!
Wilful and strong, and free
Pounce on a butterfly, on another bee.
I rule the sky, for the feel I fly,
Underneath me, are lesser beings.
But I fear most, is the bigger kite
Stretched his wings, he flies
like my but higher
Oh he grasped me I tire,
after restless flaps and flutters,
as the butterfly I caught when I was king,
In his sky, he too reigned.
