Celebrating Differences Poem by Uma nair

Celebrating Differences

Between dark and fair skins
Between haves and have nots
Between beauty of languages
Between life and its meanings

We danced along dingy days
We tried to spread our wings
New skies to conquer, what liberty
Celebrating differences brings

New periods of pain intersect
It cannot recollect when we connect
When it begins getting told
We gain friends from different folds

When night is almost done
And sunrise throws the dawn
Then we can fill the lonely spaces
Smoothen out differences

We danced along dingy days
We tried to spread our wings
New skies to conquer, what liberty
Celebrating differences brings
