Chain On My Neck Poem by Lei Strauss

Chain On My Neck

I want to escape from prisoner's house
But handcuffs are better too tight
I guess my life will be alright
Though I won't see little hopes in the sky

I wonder what life is about
Being free from this deceitful torture
I guess my life will be alright
Though I won't see the dream shines bright

I'd like to be free, like to be proud
But I got chain on my neck, chain on my neck
I'd like to fly anytime, fly anywhere
But I got this chain on my neck, chain on my neck
That's because you own me, you own me

I want to live like an ordinary human
Not hunted by someone else
I guess my life will be alright
Though I keep on making same mistakes

I wonder how to smile with power
Manipulated by everyday drama
I guess my life will be alright
Though it is so hard to breathe

I'd like to be free, like to be proud
But I got chain on my neck, chain on my neck
I'd like to fly anytime, fly anywhere
But I got this chain on my neck, chain on my neck
That's because you own me, you own me

I'd like to be free, like to be proud
But I got chain on my neck, chain on my neck
I'd like to fly anytime, fly anywhere
But I got this chain on my neck, chain on my neck
That's because you own me, you own me
