Change Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Change

The devil says there’s been no change
Your life is just the same
You’re acting just a trifle strange
Believing Jesus’ name

But take your bible take a seat
Divide yourself in two
Let one be sat at Jesus’ feet
The other stand and view

I know it’s hard to do at first
Yet give it please a try
When then a few times you’ve rehearsed
You’ll cease to wonder why

First let the new man start to read
With old man looking on
From all you see pay greatest heed
What’s leant of Christ God’s Son?

Exchanging places new with old
How swiftly you’ll agree
Explaining what the bible told
The old man still won’t see

There’s been a change, the old man’s gone
The new man’s found The Way
Life’s changing battle’s clearly won
And changed you’re sure to stay

Our mind the devil will confuse
Each strategy he’ll try
And yet he’s bound to always lose
When Christ is standing by

Christ stands by those who’s hearts are anew
Who’ve changed to robes of white
And with the old who’ll change their view
And live to seek God’s Light
