Change Poem by Mary Champion

Change

There are those times
when the thrill of change
offers new horizons,
exhilarating adventures,
as new experiences beckon -
the times when you find you have grown wings
and learned how to fly.

But there are times
when change is a vandal,
grimly trashing your dreams.
A tsunami upends your life
as it leaves you wretchedly adrift -
the kind of change that tears up your roots,
and wipes out your hopes.

And there are times
when a subtle change
will ventilate your life,
reviving a lost ambition,
reminding you of forgotten goals -
the kind of change that goes with your flow -
gently sets you free.
