Chapter 18. Kidnapped Poem by Katherine Shaw

Chapter 18. Kidnapped

Depressed, hungry down to my last few quid
I was crossing the road and heard a skid
There was a car coming towards me
I hadn't been looking so I did not see
The car came to a halt at the side of the street
Drove a little forwards, then began to retreat
A man opened a door, jumped from the car
In his mouth a big, fat cigar
He came over and asked 'Hey, are you okay? '
I stated 'Yes' and started to walk away
He grabbed me firmly by my sleeve
And he refused to let me leave
'Hey, skinny lady, when was the last time you ate? '
I replied 'Yesterday morning about half past eight'
I was so hungry, dishevelled and thin
He could see the state I was in

I have some food and drink in my car
I can see you are hungry, I know you are '
He pulled me to the back passenger door
I struggled and pulled and struggled some more
He proceeded to shove me into the back seat of the car
I don't know where he drove but it seemed quite far
The guy in the back held firmly onto me
The driver referred to him as Mr. D
I tried to struggle, tried to shout
Mr. D. silenced me with a swift clout
That brutal man had taken me against my will
I was so scared to move that I had to sit still

He said his christian name was Mike
And the place we were going I was sure to like
He said this with such an evil grin
That it sent shivers through my skin
I had no idea what he was talking about
I didn't question for fear of another clout
I started to enter panic mode
Fear building up I was ready to explode
My temperature kept changing from cold to hot
Could I have escaped? I think not
I had to stay composed and calm
Besides, that brute had a grip of my arm
