Charity, a dawning act, a flowering bud
Can take the tide at the flood
Then obedience shall descend on bridal wings
If thy thoughts untainted went
If thy gesture bequeathed a trend
If thy valour surmounted thy bent
Charity, a nursing hand, a caring beatitude
Can bid umpteen sins adieu
Then sincerity will crop on bereaved soils
If thy acts offendeth none
If thy giving glorifies the One
If thy caring pacifies the torn
Charity, a promising stunt, an intoxicating elixir
Can gauge out the venomous denizens
Then compassion, will harvest in vilest seasons
If thy sharing be unseasonal
If thy parting be well reasoned
If thy blood & judgment be well commingled
