Chasing Caribou. Poem by Ross Ulysses Munroe

Chasing Caribou.

Today, we saw a beautiful Malamute
just struck by a car.
Proud, strong, fearless, he had been running loose
his owner nowhere near.

People were comforting him
as he was fading.

He smiled at us when the lights went out.
He seemed to have been caught by the whirlwind
but he was probably just chasing caribou.

Chasing Caribou.
