Wish I were a child again
When tying lace was biggest issue.
Waiting for daddy's inland letter I grew.
With few friends who were true.
Thinking my brother was super hero my mind blew.
Sister like mine who love and care are few.
Mummy is all-rounder who made family stick like glue.
Wish I were child again
Watching paper boats in rain streams going through.
Smelling the filter coffee brew.
Listening to music during nights with stars view.
Enjoying little things, I knew.
Time will pass this soon I had no clue
Wish I were a child again
Wrapping brown sheets to books which were new.
In summer holidays kites we flew.
Playing outdoors we value.
Thoughts of undertaker we turned blue.
Only taboo was shaktimaan will come to rescue.
Wish I were a child again
With a saree we made igloo.
Pulled out cassette tape and rolled it back with pencil and this would continue.
To watch Doordarshan our home was venue,
For our little Avenue.
One who made my childhood joyful - Thank you!
