Chocolate - Poem by Sheelene Gumbs

When you get that craving in your soul
That itch that never ever lets you satisfy that scratch
For that place so deep inside
That you need to feel that that..

That pulse that savor of flavor
That warmth that rocks your very soul
On the real to make your finger stretch
And your toes curl
And your back arches and..

Oh yes it gets you hot and passion rises
And you need to.. need to … must have
Gotta have… whoooooo…
You know how you can't eat
You can't breathe
Your heart flutters and beat so fast that
You can't, just can't act as if it isn't there.

It comes in all shapes and sizes
It comes milky with filling inside
With nuts, with a smooth taste
That rolls off your tongue and makes
Your inside want to come outside and then and then

On that roller coaster the emotional rollercoaster
The erotic rollercoaster
On that… that… oh… its making me
Get to that climax and then
And then oh my breath slows and slows
Till I'm ready for the next fix
Of chocolate.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Waiting on a Monday night before going to a poetry event and wanting a Lindt Milk Chocolate bar. Though it sounds like something else.
