Christmas came and went, like a flash of light.
The birth of Christ seems to have been lost in mid-flight.
The carol singers sang a song or two,
The twelve days of Christmas really flew.
Santa Claus came out in November.
Then he vanished by the end of December
The glitter decorations and oppressive buying.
The Christmas story is slowly dying.
It is all a big hype and an act put on.
While jingle bells were harmoniously sung.
The wonder and awe were not around.
Not one flake of snow fell on the ground.
There was no shortage of money spent.
Some held back this month's rent.
But what, just cash a check?
Farewell to all that Christmas cheer.
till it comes again next year.
