Christmas

Christmas time is here again,
The season of good will to all men,
Christmas presents under the tree,
I wonder if there’s one for me,

Christmas carols, hymns and rhymes,
How I love these festive times,
Santa will be here with gifts and toys,
But only if you’re good girls and boys,

Tucked up in bed wide eyed and merry,
“I wonder if Santa will drink his sherry, ”
The look on their face as they quietly doze,
What presents will we have nobody knows,

The scream in the morning, “oh look he’s been, ”
The look on their faces just has to be seen,
The surprise on their faces as they gaze in awe,
At the mountain of presents stacked up on the floor,

All the well kept secrets are now in the open,
As the mound of presents the kids start to open,
What I’d give to be a child once more,
To feel that excitement of that cold Christmas morn.
