I wrote my list to Santa
and told him everything -
the presents that I really want,
the parcels he should bring.
Don't care about the wrappings,
the tinsel or the string,
just told him what I wanted,
just told him what to bring….
Bring peace of mind for everyone,
make sure that all are fed,
make sure you bring them sturdy homes,
strong roofs above their head.
Take away the worries
that keep us all awake,
bring us lots of happiness
instead, for Heaven's sake.
Bring swift resolutions
to the arguments and wars,
bring generous hearts to those in charge
and wise heads too of course.
Bring health to anyone who's sick,
bring wealth to those in need,
bring love to all the lonely hearts
bring cures for human greed.
Bring dignity for the abused,
bring justice for us all,
bring healing balm where souls are bruised,
bring help to those who call
for mercy from the cruel doubts
that hold them in suspense,
and most of all, dear Santa,
bring us bags of Common Sense.
