Circling, Extant Vultures Poem by Alex Rosak

Circling, Extant Vultures

Rating: 0.5

Is this now the end of time?
Will the sun never rise again for me?
Will this eternal astral sign
Remain lost to where I shall be?

My earthly duties undone for evermore?
An unfinished, deathless story,
A legend of forgotten lore?
Or will the unsolved riddle be untangled by another?
Will my lifetime's noble duty be completed under cover
Of my own revered name?
Will the mistakes therein committed be attributed to the same?

Is my name to remain unsullied,
Sweet posterity its esteem restore
Or will the circling, extant vultures
Cancel out what has gone before?
