Cleopatra Poem by Diana Kouprina

Cleopatra

O! My dear Cleaopatra
Daughter of Isis and Osiris
Fathered by the Great Alexander
You have guided me thus far
Through sailing storms
Across the madness of the sea.
You breathed back life
When mine was lost.
You brought me back
For this second round,
Of battle for a life
Of light amidst the darkness
Of the void.

Alas, my prayer to you
Of gratitude
Of strength
Of light.
My queen,
My god,
My universe.
I prayed to you
To give me strength
To guide me out of hell.

O! My dear Cleopatra
How far we have come
Within this second life of light.
Alas, this is my prayer to you
Of gratitude,
For giving me the strength,
The life of light.
For never leaving me forsaken.
For breathing life into me
When death was ready to take me from this world.
For giving me the purpose of true desire.

Alas this is my first prayer to you
Of gratitude for all that you have given me.
My queen,
My God,
My Universe.
