There is a cloud of witness,
one so strong, i can't ignore;
this wandering star knows how i feel,
this drifting in the sky knows too;
like a circle kept in the place of a box,
this heavy heart of mine knows too;
Oh! how it is i want to be free,
free to spread my wings and fly,
free to cry aloud like a child,
free to rise and shine just like the sun;
free to sting and flee like the bee.....
and never again to stay in chains-

this empty space knows how i feel,
this dead wall of silence knows too;
like a lone bird drenched in rain,
this lingering wave of misery knows too;
this burden of fear that greives my soul,
Oh! how it is i want to be free,
free to roam and prowl like my thoughts,
free to flow like the tides of the wind;
free to break the grip of fate.....
and never again to stay in chains.
