Colors Fade Poem by Paul Fisher

Colors Fade

As the air gets thinner
And the colors fade out
Will you take my hand?
So we can all figure it out

Take a seat, child
Let’s watch
As worlds devour themselves
Destroy the last batch

Watch them drift into insanity
And know you cannot
For you already are
You already fought

Everyone’s too proud
Don’t you see?
They want to be above
Yet they talk about everyone being free

So let’s sit here
In this astral plane
It’ll never get better
No more need to play in the rain

Under the sun
We don’t play
But we kill our brothers
Let’s watch them die today

Sit down, child
Watch society mold
The common criminal
It’s always dying, but it never gets old

I know the hypocrisy
Mankind brings
In a veil of hope
Misguided fortunes and arrogant kings

As the air gets thinner
And the colors wash away
Would you grab my hand?
Walk with me, nothings okay

Under starry nights
And blackened moons
They scream in question
To arrogant to know what they’ve done

The worlds collide tonight
Full force, nothing will stop
So let’s tune out
And make it to the top

As the air gets thinner
And the colors fade away
Will you take my hand, child?
And walk with me; let me show you the way
