From a dream
It's quite a coincidence!
we were just talking about it the other day;
the chances of me being accused of a crime
and of having to pay
with my life.
Well, now here I am;
shit-scared and smelling the sweat only fear can induce.
But I know I'm innocent.
Surely, they have to produce
some evidence I have committed a crime,
and no time,
have I ever acted against what the Law will allow.
So, how
can they crucify me?
I can't believe it!
This can't be true!
I can't conceive it!
I can't go through
anymore!
What has this whole thing been for
If I am just destined to die?
Tell me why?
I'm begging you.
Don't let them do this to me.
You know I'm innocent.
You make them see.
I'm so scared,
not prepared
for what I've got waiting for me.
Oh why, must they crucify me?
****
It seemed cold. Or perhaps it was only my fear
as I sensed the end coming near.
But I feel a power in me
that's warming my soul, and I see
the fear flowing out of me now.
I know we will make it somehow.
I'm sorry it's hurting you too,
and there's not a thing we can do.
But one day, you'll help me to see
just why they crucified me.
