Confrontation Poem by June Stepansky

Confrontation

I talk.
You don’t listen.
You talk.
I don’t hear.
We both talk.
We both misunderstand.

You shout.
I cry.
I shout.
You become angrier.
We both shout.
We both cry.

You leave,
and I retreat
to a neutral
corner.
