Constant Letdown Poem by Morgan Stanton

Constant Letdown

Heavy tears and light hearts
The constant let down
Oh, how many times i've experienced
Theived loves, stolen minutes
How much time is actually left?
Words only the writer can only understand
No, i don't mind
You've dicovered your own voice
Care less of the common critic,
But keep mind, your opinions are useful

What is less than man?
Man itself.
Beat down, fought, and lost.
No glory to be recieved.
But why are we so convinced?
We must be all powerful.
We feed on others failures.
But only success can relieve our hunger.

We use humanity as an excuse,
But i believe the real cause
Is staring at you in the mirror.
