Contained Poem by Stevens Cadet

Contained

Meditate, pace, say grace
Delegate, this energy can't be contained
Elevate, change my state
Every loss turned lessons into gains

Navigate, bend through space
Different plane, but somehow I'm still the same
Generate, then create
Put a pulse in everything that bears my name

Resonate, frequencies wave
What you think eventually takes a shape
Calculate, but leave room for fate
'Cause every route ain't something you can trace

Separate truth from the game
They monetize attention, then call it fame
I protect mine, know what it became
When the mind gets free, ain't no fitting the frame

I seen love turn strange, friends rearrange
Same ones at the table couldn't stomach the change
Had to learn every blessing don't come without pain
And the sun hit different when you walked through the rain

Had to break old ways, make space
Can't heal yesterday if you live in that place
Forgave, not erased, there's a difference in grace
I can love you from afar and still wish you great

Interstate, switching lanes
Windows down, let the wind ventilate
City lights look like stars when they fade
Funny how perspective make the prison feel fake

Digital age, everybody on stage
Selling pieces of themselves just to feed an engage
Algorithms know your wants before you turn the page
If attention is currency, protect what you pay

Data lakes, silicon brains
Teaching metal how to think while we forgetting our ways
Built machines in our image, now they mirror our traits
Maybe artificial minds show how artificial we became

Still I—

Meditate, pace, say grace
Delegate, this energy can't be contained
Elevate, change my state
Every loss turned lessons into gains

I don't chase, I attract
Put the work in the soil, let the universe react
Had to face every flaw I was hiding in back
'Cause you can't lead the world if you scared of your past

Integrate shadow and light
Had some wars with myself I was losing at night
Had to kill my own ego, not the man in the fight
Now the enemy's a thought if I don't govern it right

Black skin, ancient code
Young soul, but it feel like I've been here before
Had to carry every story that my bloodline wrote
While creating new dimensions they ain't traveled before

From the field to the lab, from the pen to the stage
Every chapter look random till you turn back the page
Every stranger that I helped left a mark in exchange
Maybe purpose ain't a title, it's the lives that you change

So I build, then I pray
Keep humanity intact while technology race
If tomorrow ain't promised, put some love in today
'Cause the richest man alive still can't purchase a day

No escape from the clock
No amount in the bank make the heartbeat restart
So I'm measuring wealth by the peace in my heart
And the people still beside me when the spotlight gets dark

Meditate, pace, say grace
Delegate, this energy can't be contained
Elevate, change my state
Every loss turned lessons into gains

Resonate, let it shake
If it's real, you ain't gotta convince 'em it's great
Let 'em doubt, let 'em hate
Some can only see the vision when the vision gets made

Meditate...
Pace...
Say grace...

Then create.

Energy can't be contained.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote a few lines than asked ChatGPT to finish the poem for me. This is my first time ever uploading or creating a work of poetry in collaboration with AI. I have mixed feelings. If I were to ever do this again, I will be sure to include in the notes and hashtags that AI was used.
