We've finally got cool weather
We're in the south you know
Where hot days last forever
There's little chance of snow
The sun it melts the blacktop
Waves of heat just fill the air
To go outside means sweating
Through your clothes, it soaks your hair
Though you seek relief
From the heat it presses down
It makes your steps seem heavy
Makes your smile turn to a frown
The time is finally coming
When the skies turn just that blue
And the air takes on a crispness
It means summer's finally through
Time to pack away the tank tops
No more wearing bathing suits
Time to pull out all the sweaters
Time to find that pair of boots
Look for gloves to keep the hands warm
Find the slippers for your feet
Time to change from air condition
Set the thermostat to heat
Yes finally days are here
When the leaves fall from the trees
When the daylight hours are shortened
From the heat there is reprieve.
