Country Scene Poem by Howard Osborne

Country Scene

COUNTRY SCENE

The empty grey road stretches ahead
Into the distance, where I am invited
Trees on both sides as if an embrace
Fingers of green leaves stretching out
Almost an arch, as they try to touch
As if holding hands, in a gentle clutch
Destined to connect, without a doubt
With subtle shades showing in its face
Where hints of sunlight have alighted
Hearts will be inspired, as nature said
