Covered Poem by Chris Townsend

Covered

Rating: 5.0

I hide my heart it's hidden in my coat,
I know I should profess, confess, my deceitful love note,
But what then what would I trust,
To give my heart to another, only if I must,
So I stand alone with my coat buttoned up,
Not an ounce of my heart showing, covered up,
I hide this emotion it awaits a new day,
To let go and be as I should, in what ever way,
To release all the passion pent up, in my buttoned coat,
To live again, to set sail, to float,
So leave me here, there is nothing to see,
Just a young child, covered up against the weather, this is me,
