What awakens in me
when remembrance rises
is the soft trembling
of an ancient truth.
I whisper to my heart:
once,
I dwelt hidden in Being,
cradled in the Eternal breath,
then lifted into light,
eyes opening to the One
who shaped all souls
from a single, yearning essence.
I recall the joy that dawned—
creation rising
from its first dreaming,
borne on the mercy of the Infinite.
When nearness touches me,
my heart stirs
with the warmth of first love,
before forms, before names,
before the world sculpted
its illusion of separation.
Every voice, every gaze,
every reaching gesture
reminds me:
we are one.
When distance returns,
I seek the quiet
where the Beloved scatters signs.
There, I taste again
moonlit nearness,
the fragrance of unity mingled with mine.
And I long—
not for any return,
but for the Return:
when no light fades,
no dusk divides,
and nothing veils the Truth.
How else could I journey—
without the Face destined for all,
without the Voice calling us
back to the first promise,
back to the moment
when even night
folded its wings,
and every soul
was woven into one
beneath the Eternal's gaze?
