The Walk
The white tipped tail bounced ahead
The sun filtered through the green canopy
The stillness of dripping foliage, rain washed
Blows in the wind to dry the storm.
From a distance the shadow launches
With a piercing cry and gathered pace
Huge wings span, gaining height, it flew
Calling as it went casting its image
The eagle gathered pace and was gone.
Marley never noticed, and we wondered.
