Creature Of The Night Poem by Chelsea Lybbert

Creature Of The Night

Looking through the window,
I can't help but to smile,
Grin as the darkness overcomes the light.
The time has almost come,
Where I can finally be released,
Into the dark, cold world tonight.
Destruction, hatred, killing sprees,
All have now been open,
I am now set free,
Allowed to roam where I please,
Destroying all in my sight,
Everything is up to me,
I am a creature of the night.

I fly through the streets,
Terrorizing all whom I see,
They run and scream,
At the sight of me.
I stop to laugh,
At the babies they are,
Scared to play with death,
To get close to the fire.
I continued the chase,
Because he's too blind to see,
My one weakness,
My enemy.

I kill him slowly,
Letting him feel the pain,
The agony I can bring,
Playing my little game,
As he slowly drifts away,
I step back and watch,
And let him suffer.
Letting him feel one last time,
Giving him a slim chance,
That he might recover.
And if he does,
He can go free,
But I still have won,
This is my victory.
And maybe he'll learn,
To not mess with night,
Because when his backs turned,
I jump up and bite.
