Cursed Lot Poem by udoh etido

Cursed Lot

I joined the crusades;
to defend the crown;
I wielded the sword;
to conquer for the Divine.

Days of blood;
the cross calls all;
Neglect kindred;
the Divine is needed.

I crossed rivers and seas;
there is a lot to the sky and ships.

Our ship sailed through the storms;
our feet entered gentile halls;
We but mortals;
what is our say amongst angels? .

Neglect family;
the King is divine;
For an Oracle;
drew our hearts to great spectacle.

I stand as one in the crowd;
our lives have different paths;
A knight i was;
we were called to carry the cross.

This path is filled with blood;
Fight for the Divine's course;
This path is evil;
your sins shall be forgiven.

Join the crusades;
the Divine will not negotiate.

I left all and sundry;
i wielded the sword of sorrow;
For this is not a path to choose;
for this i will never fall.

Now i stand at Heaven's door;
my hands are laden with blood;
But Heaven's doors are locked;
do seas ever soar? .
For Heaven's doors are locked;
Angels flee in horror.

Remember me;
i wielded the sword for thee.

Remember me;
i traversed the earth for thee.
