Dad parked his truck today
Although I don’t understand the reason,
He says that hauling freight
Is not as profitable this season.

Dad parked his truck today
And boy does it look sad,
Mom said we spent all of our time
With only the kids and her, not Dad.

Dad parked his truck today
He said that freight rates were down,
Says that maintenance & Insurance
Were sky high, all around.

Dad parked his truck today
Took him all day to unload his stuff,
He says that sitting days at a time
Was making profits really tough.

Even though he says the timing wasn’t right,
Everyday I hear Dad talking about the bills
But, I sure am glad he’s home at night!
