Dance My Own Beat Poem by Lei Strauss

Dance My Own Beat

In a crowd where everyone dances the same rhythm
One tries to get along with the new beat
But if trying to fit in is the meaning of acceptance
The world must be in state of hypocrisy

The stage is too big for many people to dance
Few are chosen and given a great chance
I'd like to watch myself dancing as bright ascrown
But the little light sparkling shut them down

A man's high profession is not the standard of kindness
Sometimes they crawl towards you and could be ruthless
Apology is easy but wounds take time to heal
Then I don't want to sway on these cheap thrills

So this is the jiffy of breaking my momentum
There are plenty of things that should be caught in my eye
Because life is more than a dance performance
I should keep on dancing- I'll dance my own beat.
