Dancing Snowflakes Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Dancing Snowflakes

From up high in the sky so grand,
Water falls to the waiting land.

If the air is warm and mild,
Raindrops fall, gentle and wild.
Clouds let go, a watery tear,
Washing the world, making it clear.
Snow turns to rain on its way down,
Water blessing hill and town.

But when the air is crisp and cold,
A different story will unfold.
Water turns to icy grace,
Each flake unique in time and space.
Frozen crystals, light and white,
Snowflakes falling, day and night.
Water freezes to ice so strong,
Each snowflake dancing all day long.

And sometimes, in between,
A mix of slush, a messy scene.
Part snow, part rain, a sloppy mess,
Not quite either, I must confess.

From mountain high to valley low,
Most starts as snow, you know.
Then melts to rain if it's not too cold,
A story the sky has often told.
