Dear Poem by Sabelo Khumalo

Dear

Dear darling.
I still I love you and I still care.
You're still a part of this little heart of mine,
although you don't seem to notice.

You seem to think that I resent you, when
I really don't.
From today on-wards I have to move on with
my life.
I'm not rejecting you, but I'm simply distancing
myself further away from you.
The reason I'm doing this is because of the
decisions you've made in life, of which I don't like
most of them.

I'm doing this because I want better and I
can't get that with you around.
Not having you around is good, but just having you
deep down in my heart is even better

Dear old me, thank you for being the foundation of
the new me.
