Dear Daddy Poem by Emo Sweetie

Dear Daddy

Rating: 5.0

Dear Daddy,
It's me,
Your daughter.
It's CC.

Do you know me at all?
No, I don't think you do.
'Cuz when you left Mommy,
You left me too.

I saw you on the street.
I guess you didn't know what to say,
'Cuz when I yelled your name,
You just turned and walked away.

Maybe you heard the news,
Momma got married.
Tall guy, black hair.
Sorta' looks like Jerry.

He took your job.
The one you quit.
But when he heard 'I'm pregnant, '
This guy didn't split.

Did you hear me Daddy?
I'm not the baby anymore.
A little boy named Dalton
Is two weeks from being born.

He'll always know his father.
But I'll never see mine.
That kid is so lucky.
His life will be fine.

No hole in his heart,
Where Daddy should be.
No lonely Christmases,
Just Mommy and me.

My birthday just passed.
Did you send me a card?
Do you know how old I am?
Think Daddy. Real hard.

Mom was only 16.
She thought you were 'the one'.
Well, I'm 16 too,
But not quite as dumb.

I'm a straight 'A' girl,
In drama and track.
I've got a scholarship, Dad.
What do you think about that?

I'm already better,
Than you'll ever be!
'Cuz I'm not a loser,
Or a parent at 17.

I pray you read this,
And it makes you cry.
Out of pain, out of anger.
'Cuz none of it's a lie.

I gotta go now, Dad.
I gotta go to school.
You know, the place that you dropped out of?
'Cuz you were 'way too cool.'?

I'll be singing tonight.
At the bar here in town,
Stop by and say hi,
If you're even around.

Goodbye, Dad.
This is forever.
This was your daughter.
Love you? Never. (//_o)
