Dear Death Poem by Bernard Gabriel Okurut

Dear Death

We should sit and talk
One more time,
Perhaps the final time.
Walk with me through my last days,
Comfort me in my last hours.
Sing with me songs of sorrow,
Sing with me songs of joy,
For the battle will be lost and won,
I will die and be reborn.
My tale will be told beyond this realm,
My story will not end here.
Speak to me of a world beyond the cover of darkness,
Is it worth the rest of my years?
Speak and free me from fear.
