Dear Diary Poem by Farhat Naseem

Dear Diary

Rating: 5.0

You know, don't you?
I'm exhausted, drained of life
From shattered dreams and unmet expectations
From attachments that weigh me down
From the helplessness that engulfs me
From thoughts that haunt and demons that taunt
From time's relentless march forward
And the memories of moments left behind
From fears of what's yet to come

Dear Diary,
You understand, don't you?
I yearn for a simple life
A cozy home, a happy family
A mother's proud smile
Dreams that unfold like petals
A heart at peace

But tell me, dear Diary,
How can these dreams be mine?
When I'm entangled in centuries of sorrow
Like threads of a tangled skein?
How can I break free from time's chains?
How can I liberate myself from my own grasp?
How can I take steps toward a brighter dawn?
How can I make the impossible possible?

Dear Diary,
Don't you ever tire?
Of my lamentations?
My despairing thoughts?
My endless fears?
My fragile existence?

Dear Diary,
You're my eternal friend
My circumstances may change, but you remain
I'll meet you again tomorrow
Goodbye!
