Death… - Poem by Joe Johnson

The sweet kiss of death eludes me
For thy kiss is of the forsaken
The sweet touch of the void calls
To me in my wakening hours
My own emptiness and guilt walks by me
As my shadow and my friend
The failures call me..
to thy sweet kiss of death
And my friends even now
I slip off the league
Too the forever cold
