Deception Poem by Joy Powell

Deception

Rating: 5.0

Will loneliness surpass
the ache of heart fond past
echoes laughter, cry my heart
defeated unknowingly from the start
warnings went unheeded for words
desperately pleaded
unknowing by a spiritless one who had
no morals... none to shune
yet tears of sorrow still come forth
like a river
swift to force
till desert calm dries all it feels
the heart forever
closed and sealed
