Deep Inside Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Deep Inside

Rating: 5.0

It’s strange what happens deep inside
Once we’ve turned from sin and shame
Upon the wind we seem to ride
Whilst singing loud our Saviour’s name

There’s something warm down deep inside
The strangest feeling floods the soul
The Comforter has come to guide
To purge all filth and make us whole

God’s Holy Flame has come inside`
To heal our flesh and show the way
To burn self will all foolish pride
Consuming darkness whilst we pray

The living Christ is deep inside
God’s Holy Son eternal Fire
Within His hand we children hide
Growing stronger, climbing higher

God’s wondrous love thrives deep inside
Christ who died to set us free
As yet His arms are open wide
Offering grace to you and me

The fruit of prayer grows sweet inside
Liquid Truth changing hearts
Loosening bonds that have us tied
Shielding from satanic darts

God’s Holy Breath resounds inside
The Way and Truth to Heaven’s Door
Birthing power to turn life’s tide
With peace to live as none before

A joyful heart beats deep inside
A soul made clean through Jesus’ love
Washed in blood a grateful bride
Longs to join her Groom above….
