Deep Thought: Conceiving The Inconceivable Poem by Terry Fitzgerald

Deep Thought: Conceiving The Inconceivable

If you could conceive the inconceivable
My astonishment would be considerable
I know things exist that are unmentionable
Excuse me if I make you uncomfortable
When I tell you that times life is unstable
To open the door you are quite capable

In order to gain your emancipation
You must deliberately face your situation
Even though we live in a bleeding nation
It's not ordained that you remain at your station
You must chose to make a proclamation
And find peace with yourself without conflagration

There's no need to stand out in the radiation
As you await your chance to make a proclamation
I know that you're notseeking acclamation
Or requesting his highnesses abdication
You'd just like to make a demonstration
Without resorting to an imprecise incantation

So let's just all lay our cards on the table
Before someone resorts to repeating fables
And we don't really have a set timetable
Nor do we have an atomic device to disable
So get that old horse out of the stable
Before he throws a shoe or becomes unable
