Deeper Into Poem by Santiago Lopez

Deeper Into

Feet planted, shovel in hand.
Standing on the ground.
I feel like an archaeologist.
For I want to go deeper into finding out.
The person that is you.
I long to be closer to you.
For if you're the mother earth.
Then I am the father sky.
The consistent air between us makes me want to cry.

I long to dwell deeper into your mind.
Deeper into your body and soul.
Deeper into the love that we can have.
Letting our hearts lose control.
So deep that our souls become one.
Like the moon and the sun.
Forever eclipsing our hearts.
And never shall we part.
