Defying Gravity (Amongst Other Things) Poem by Bill Mitton

Defying Gravity (Amongst Other Things)

Rating: 5.0

It’s quite a simple thing to do
just between gravity
And you.
Natural laws are binding?
Then, answer this.
Say’s who?

It’s just a bit like singing,
Catching that single
perfect tone.
take the law and ditch it
and draft one of
your own.

No wings of wax like Icarus
nor fear of mortal jeer
or gloat
Release the ties of mind and man
Who says that you
Won’t float?
