Delayed To Entrance Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes Mister

Delayed To Entrance

A Place Called Home and Province
How long have I waited to enter
This place called home and province
Where my heart and soul surrender
To the warmth and love that commence
Through the bustling streets and lanes
I roam, eager to embrace
The sights, the smells, the remains
Of a life that I've been longing to trace
But alas, fate has played its hand
And delayed my right to enter
This land of my ancestors grand
But still, my heart refuses to falter
For I know, beyond the horizon
Lies a world of exquisite beauty
A place where my heart finds reason
To rejoice in its rightful duty
As I stand at the gates, biding my time
I close my eyes and take a deep breath
Imagining the sweet chimes
Of home, beckoning me with its warmth and depth
Oh, how I long to walk the streets
Of my hometown, once again
To feel the familiar beats
Of my heart, in rhythm with the mundane
The people, the culture, the food
All calling out to me
My spirits are lifted, my mood
Filled with joy and glee
But as I wait, time just stands still
And my heart grows heavy with longing
For this place, where my soul can fill
With memories, forever belonging
I hear the whispers of the wind
Carrying the tales of my past
The joys, the sorrows, the struggles within
All etched in these streets, to forever last
The houses, with their colorful doors
The gardens, blooming with flowers
The sound of laughter, echoing through the floors
All reminding me of my childhood hours
The markets, bustling with life
The vendors, calling out their wares
Amidst the chaos and the strife
A sense of unity, everyone shares
The rivers, flowing with grace
The mountains, standing tall
Nature's embrace, I can trace
In every corner of this land, I recall
But as I stand, gazing at this beauty
A sense of sadness creeps in
For I am still denied my right to duty
To call this place my own, where I begin
Oh, how I wish the gates would open
And I could finally step in
My heart, in joy, would surely soften
And my soul, in peace, would forever sing
But until then, I'll wait patiently
For my delayed right to enter
This place called home and province, so vibrantly
Where my heart and soul can surrender.
