Democracy And Diplomacy Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Democracy And Diplomacy

A coin of worth, with faces bright,
Democracy and Diplomacy, light.
For years we've fought, defended hard,
This precious coin, a guiding card.

Without its gleam, a world astray,
Chaos reigns, day after day.
Like dinosaurs, a brutal fight,
Where strength alone defines what's right.

A world seeks peace, a gentle hand,
Diplomacy's call, across the land.
Democracy's voice, for all to share,
Like two bright sides, a coin we bear.

For years we've fought, to hold them tight,
These precious tools, to make things right.
But when they fail, and turn away,
Darkness descends, at end of day.

Chaos erupts, a world undone,
Back to the past, the fight's begun.
Might makes right, a brutal game,
Where kindness fades, and only flame
Survives, until the bitter end,
A costly cure, for sins to mend.

No gentle hand, no voice to plead,
Just hungry jaws and selfish greed.
Then silence falls, a final blow,
A costly end, that all will know.
