Deprived Adult Poem by Mary Champion

Deprived Adult

There's something that it's hard to live without,
in face of all the tears and all the doubt.
There's something that I need, now,
like a junkie needs a fix.
I'm coming off the hard way
cos I've used up all the tricks.
There's something you can turn to
when your life gets really bad,
releasing all the tension
when frustration makes you mad.
But I've lost my escape routes,
now I understand and see,
it had to be the way it is
or Humans could not be.
Now I've lost all my scapegoats,
life won't ever be the same.
I need someone whose guts I hate -
I need someone to BLAME!
