Despair Poem by Eva Beylich

Despair

Rating: 3.5

Years of troubled sea
didn't bring them closer
always that distant hope
on the horizon of life

walls were silently built
transparent obstacles
made opaque in many months
of waiting in virtual contact

nobody tore down the barriers
meandering through lonely days
without tenderness and lust
conscious of one's duties

one day that waiting was over
old age and stroke of fate
they shared a common destiny
till one of them decided
to cut the rope of hope
