Despair Poem by Daniel Potts

Despair

Darkness that will destroy,
Thief of happiness, hope and joy.
Resist with your strength, with you might
Surrender not to the unknown with fright
Stay your course, keep to your way
Survive to see another day.
Perhaps you really don't realize
Within yourself, your future lies.
Depend on another,
Dreams will smother.
Cling to your belief,
You'll attain relief.
Guard your soul, plant your own garden
Allow your heart not to harden.
